Saturday July 18th @ 6pm

Pride Fundraising Event at 4th Line Theatre!

Thanks to those who joined us at the July 18th performance of The Bad Luck Bank Robbers at 4th Line Theatre in Millbrook.  Thanks to 4th Line for graciously returning a portion of each ticket sale to Pride and to the Pastry Peddler for the great cupcakes! Monday August 10th and 13th

Outreach and Fundraisers at Boston Pizza!

Thanks to all who joined us at Boston Pizza’s Peterborough Lansdowne/Rye Street and Chemong Road locations this time. Our friends at BP will be giving Pride 10% of food sales.

Saturday August 29th

Pride Outreach Booth in Lansdowne Place Mall @ 10am to 6pm

In an effort to engage more of Peterborough about the LGBT community and the planned Pride celebrations we are hitting the mall again! Our booth is at the top of the stairs from 10am to 6pm and we hope had a good time meeting new and old friends!

Friday September 11th

Pride Flag Raising at City Hall @ Noon

Where: Peterborough City Hall, 500 George St. N
When: 12:00 noon
The Mayor will be in attendance to assist in raising the Pride flag on the south lawn of City Hall, 500 George Street N, Peterborough. Come out and help launch Pride Week!

Saturday September 12th

Wild Out Women’s (WOW) Dance @ 9:00pm *

Where: Lion’s Club, 347 Burnham St. , Peterborough (MAP)
When: 9:00pm to 1am.
Cost: $10 at the door
Celebrate Pride with our favourite DJ – Synfully Sweet
19+ event with cash bar and light snacks
Sponsored by Rainbow Service Organization (RSO) with proceeds to RSO and Pride!

Phreaky Friday (on Saturday) Pride Edition @ 10:00pm *

Where: The Red Dog, 89 Hunter St. West
When: 10:00pm – 2:00am
Cost: $5 cover, 19+ event (ID required)

Sunday September 13th

Pride Worship Service at St. Andrews United Church @ 11:00am *

Where: St. Andrew’s United Church, 441 Rubidge Street.
When: 11:00am
Celebrate Pride with the congregation of St Andrew’s United Church. All are welcome any Sunday at 11am. The annual Pride Service will be followed by refreshments and visiting.  St Andrew’s is an Affirming Ministry of the United Church of Canada: we welcome people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life, work and worship of our congregation. Gender Journeys Pride Picnic @ Noon *picnic poster

When: Noon to 3pm
Cost: Free! Donations for Gender Journeys HKPR programming are welcome but not required.

Join Gender Journeys HKPR at their first Pride Picnic. All transgender, gender diverse, questioning, and two-spirited people, their friends, families, and allies in the four counties are invited to celebrate with us. Bring a picnic, partake in some of our snacks, and enjoy face painting, games, music, and wonderful people.

Pride Worship Service at St. John’s Anglican Church @ 4:00pm *

Where: St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St.Peterborough
When: 4:00pm
Join us for a Pride focused service of celebration and worship, where we can all rejoice that we are created in the image of God. Meagh Culkeen, Director of Youth Ministry at St. John’s West Toronto will be preaching. For more information contact Rev. Christian Harvey at christian@bbharvey.com.

Euchre Gathering @ 6:30pm start *

Where: Princess Garden Fireside Lounge,100 Charlotte Street
(park underground – stay past 7:15pm and no charge parking)
When: starts 6:30pm
Cost: Pay what you can – donations to help cover refreshments are appreciated.
The Fireside Lounge extends a warm welcome to any euchre players.

Come Out – Queer Short Films @ 8pm *Come Out Film List

Where: Bagnani Hall, Traill College, 310 London St. Peterborough
When: Showtime 8:00pm (run 77 minutes in total)
Cost: $5 or pay what you can
No sex or violence but contains mature subject matter. Post-film social at the Trend Pub right next door!

Come enjoy queer short films from around the world that focus on youth themes from the Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival. For film list and details click the picture.

Men’s Pride Social! @ 6pm *

Pride Week Men’s Social for guys who are into guys!
Where: Sapphire Room, 137 Hunter St. West.
When: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Cost: no cover, cash bar and food menu 19+ event
Join us for fun and socializing. Hosted by Men4men@PARN and Rainbow Service Organization (RSO).

Drag Bingo – Pride Edition @ 8:30pm *

Where: Sapphire Room, 137 Hunter St. West.
When: 8:30pm to 11pm
Cost: no cover, cash bar and food menu 19+ event
This fun event features Ms. Madge Enthat and Miss Divalicious and is hosted by PARN, Your Community AIDS Resource Network.

Thursday September 17th

Frontrunners Run/Walk @ 6pm *

Where: Meet outside Dreams of Beans Cafe on Hunter Street
When: 6:00pm for run/walk, 7:00 to eat at Sam’s Deli
All levels of runners/walkers welcome!
Meet back at Sam’s Deli on Hunter around 7pm for food and friendly discussion among new and old friends.

Take Back The Night – Light Your Way Walk @ 7pm *TBTN_15

Join the “Light Your Way Walk – Rally and March to Stand Up Against Sexual Violence” in Peterborough, Cobourg, Lindsay, or Haliburton. The Peterborough event will be at Fleming College, 599 Brealey Rd.
This is a free community event.

Free bus to Fleming College leaves at 6:00pm from Bata Library steps at Trent U, 6:15pm at Sadlier House, then approximately 6:20pm at Seeds of Change on George St. N.

Queering Space and Other Worlds of Wonder: LGBTQ2 Speculative Fiction Literature Reading @ 7:30pm *

PFLAG Pre-Parade Brunch @ 11:00am *

Where: George Street United Church, 534 George St North, right across from the parade starting point.
When: starts at 11:00am
A pre-Parade Brunch will be hosted by PFLAG Peterborough
Everyone is welcome. Come out and meet new and old friends from the community before the parade!
PFLAG Peterborough is delighted to provide food free of charge (Donations will be gratefully accepted).

Everyone Loves a Pride Parade! activities start @ 1:30pm

  • Where: Peterborough City Hall, 500 George St. N.
    When: Activities starting at 1:30pm including reading of the Pride Proclamation by the Mayor! The parade starts at 2pm
  • Bring a friend, the family, yourself and most of all – your pride! Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to be out and proud in your own community!
  • Reading of the Proclamation at City Hall will be followed by the 13th annual Peterborough Pride Parade. It’s all about you (and us) so lets not be afraid to show our spirit!

Pride in the Park – 2:30pm to 6:00pm

Where: Millennium Park (At the east end of King Street)
When: From 2:30pm – after the Parade, join us in the park for:

  • DJs will be spinning family friendly tunes to help you celebrate
  • Information booths from agencies that support the queer community!
  • Food and a beer garden!
  • Youth activities and more…..

ACT ON IT! @ 7:00pm*

Where: The Garnet, 231 Hunter St W.
When: Starting at 7:00pm (HIAHT at 9:15pm)
Cost: $10 at the door – Space is Limited. **
mysterious entity theatre presents: ACT ON IT! An evening of queer theatrics and introducing the End of the World Tour of HAMLET IN A HOT
TUB! Followed by an 80′s dance party! Doors at 7:00p.m., Performances by Em Glasspool, David Bateman and Cathy Petch followed by Hamlet in a Hot Tub at 9:15 – 10:00p.m. with an encore performance at 11:00p.m.

Sunday September 20th

Gilead Sabbath at The Unitarian Fellowship of Peterborough @ 10:00am *

Where: The Unitarian Fellowship, 775 Weller Street, Peterborough
When: 10:00am
As part of our celebration of Peterborough Pride, our community will be observing a Gilead Sabbath, an Initiative to raise witness for global LGBTQ inclusion and against LGBTQ rights violations. Together, let us remember the need to continue to push for rights and respect yet to be won.
